Technology Policy

Our Place Society values trust, privacy, and human connection above all else. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and that commitment extends to how we use technology — including artificial intelligence (AI).
We want our community to know that donor and community member privacy remains a top priority. Personal information, donor details, and contact information are never shared with AI tools.
We use AI in limited and responsible ways to support our work behind the scenes — such as helping us analyze program data, organize information, check spelling and grammar, or proofread draft materials. AI does not write donor communications, manage relationships, or replace human talent. Every email that you receive is written and created by a human.  Yes, there is spelling and assistance and some help with some turns of phrase.  This helps shave precious minutes off our time allowing us to connect and be frugal with your dollars that you trustingly provide to us.
Every message, story, and relationship at Our Place begins and ends with a real person. Our communications are created through relationships with the people that we serve as they start with trust, and then an interview and are written by our team.  These stories are shaped by lived experience, compassion, and care — and are reviewed, refined, and approved by our team.  Stories will never be created or manufactured by AI.  Behind every story is a real human that wants to share their experience and information.
Our Place is a deeply human organization, built on relationships and trust. That will never change. Our responsible use of AI reflects those same values: transparency, care, and respect for the people who make this community what it is.
