Good Neighbour Agreement

Our Place Society is one of many agencies working to address the issues surrounding poverty in Greater Victoria. We recognize that strength and positive outcomes can be gained through collaboration.

We work closely with the City of Victoria and surrounding municipalities, other social agencies, the Victoria, Saanich and Oak Bay police departments, our neighbours and the business community.

The Good Neighbour Group consists of nearby residents as represented by the North Park and Downtown Residents Associations, along with the City of Victoria and the Victoria Police Department. This group also includes representatives from St. Andrew’s School, the Victoria Conservatory of Music, our friends at Central Baptist, St. John the Divine and First Metropolitan churches. Many nearby residents and representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Social Development participate and support the agreement.

The Good Neighbour Agreement is a commitment by the neighbours in the 900 Block of Pandora Avenue to communicate with one another, address concerns, show respect for the street community and to follow through on agreed actions. We meet monthly at Our Place Society to discuss existing and emerging neighbourhood issues by allowing each representative to voice their opinion.

Our Place recognizes that the Good Neighbour Agreement will assist in managing social issues, reduce their impact on the immediate neighbourhood, and facilitate initiatives that will improve the safety and livability of the 900 block of Pandora Avenue.
