It’s the Christmas message full of hope, redemption and . . . ghosts. Featuring the vocal talents of CBC Radio personalities, including Gregor Craigie and Shelagh Rogers, CBC and Our Place present a dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on Friday., Dec. 10. This special online event promises to be a heart-warming evening for the whole family.

Our Place and CBC present Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol

VICTORIA, B.C. – It’s time to roast some chestnuts and gather ‘round the flickering iPad, PC or phone to celebrate Christmas with Tiny Tim, Scrooge and ever-patient Bob Cratchit. And while, we can’t yet meet in person, CBC personalities and community leaders are offering up the next best thing: a virtual dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

This year’s edition of A Christmas Carol takes place on Friday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. via a special virtual broadcast featuring well-known CBC personalities reading excerpts from the timeless story.

Returning readers Gregor Craigie (host of On the Island), Shelagh Rogers (The Next Chapter) and Robyn Burns (All Points West), will be joined by Rohit Joseph and Kathryn Marlow (All Points West), and special guests Bruce Williams (Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce) and Grant McKenzie (Our Place). Music will also be provided by the talented students of the Canadian College of Performing Arts.

Tickets are $15.00 for individuals, but this year, businesses, congregations, families, etc., can buy a special group pass for $500 that also includes the sponsorship of a meal. Up to five members of your group are invited to visit Our Place and help serve the meal to our vulnerable population. All proceeds go to support Our Place programs and services.
