Volunteer orientations are held on a monthly basis or more often as needed. During these sessions, prospective volunteers learn about our organization, how we support our family members (clients) and how you can help our team. A tour of the facility is provided and we share about the impact Our Place has had on those who use our services.
The next orientations are on: Tuesday, March 14 from 6-8 pm (this session is full) and Tuesday, April 11 from 6-8 pm.
Please contact the Volunteer Manager to sign up for the next orientation.
Who can volunteer and when can I volunteer?
We welcome volunteers who are 19 years of age and older. Exceptions can be arranged with the volunteer manager for junior and high school student groups or individuals with adult supervision. Volunteer opportunities are available 7 days a week between 6:30am and 9 pm in winter, (October through March) and 7 am through 6 pm in summer (April through September). Volunteers typically commit to one, 2-4 hour shift per week; however we also offer flexible commitments through an on-line scheduling program. Placement is dependent upon schedule openings and the volunteer’s interest and availability at the time of placement.
