Easter is traditionally a time of renewed hope, and that couldn’t be more evident than at Our Place. Local politicians, dignitaries and media personalities joined Our Place volunteers and staff to make everyone feel like family this Easter by not only serving a special meal, but taking the time to listen to those whose voices are often the last to be heard. Hundreds of Victoria’s most vulnerable citizens joined Our Place’s family table for a special Easter meal on Wednesday, March 28 through the generous support of donors, community groups and volunteers. City leaders and special guests rolled up their sleeves to dish out a full meal of baked ham (300 lbs), scalloped potatoes (500 lbs), and garden veg (200 lbs). And for dessert, Rogers’ chocolates generously donated 1,000 Victoria Cream eggs.
