Easter Celebration at Our Place – Community comes together to serve over 850 meals to the homeless and impoverished of Greater Victoria. “The need is greater than ever,” says Don Evans, executive director of Our Place. “People from all walks of life are struggling to make ends meet. Serving an Easter meal to those who might otherwise go without is just one small way of showing that we are here to listen, share and support.” The kitchen at Our Place will serve a hearty meal consisting of 1,000 lbs of turkey, 500 lbs of potatoes, 250 lbs of stuffing, 200 lbs of vegetables, 25 gallons of gravy, 55 lbs of cranberry sauce and 1,500 cups of coffee.
