#24.63 Social Enterprises Manager

Position Overview

At the heart of OPS’s mission is the belief that employment has the power to transform lives by instilling hope and a sense of belonging. In line with this vision, Our Place Society is embarking on a groundbreaking venture—a for-profit social enterprise initiative aimed at creating employment opportunities for vulnerable members of our community.

We are currently seeking a dedicated manager to lead this innovative initiative. The Social Enterprises Manager will play a pivotal role in launching and managing this for-profit social enterprise, aligning with OPS’s core mission and values.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the creation and growth of for-profit social enterprise ventures.
    • Identify market opportunities and assess feasibility for new business ventures.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align social enterprise initiatives with organizational goals and mission.
  2. Business Creation:
    • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and launch of new social enterprise ventures.
    • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to assess potential business opportunities.
    • Develop business plans, including financial projections, marketing strategies, and operational frameworks.
    • Identify and secure necessary resources, including funding, partnerships, and talent, to support business creation and growth.
  3. Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of social enterprise ventures, ensuring efficient and effective execution of business activities.
    • Establish and maintain operational systems, processes, and controls to drive productivity and performance.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate business performance against targets.
    • Implement strategies to optimize business operations and enhance profitability.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, investors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, finance, and human resources, to support social enterprise initiatives.
    • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote social enterprise initiatives and foster partnerships.
  5. Impact Measurement:
    • Develop and implement systems for measuring and reporting on the social and financial impact of social enterprise ventures.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social enterprise initiatives in achieving desired outcomes and making meaningful contributions to the community.

The chosen individual will work closely with our dedicated team and external specialists to ensure the plan’s meticulous development, focusing on business plan development as a primary objective.

Working Conditions/Compensation:

Shifts: 40 hours per week, days.

Compensation: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. Commensurated with experience.

Benefits: Vacation is accrued at a rate of 6%. Eligible for a 100% employer paid comprehensive benefits plan, including health and dental coverage, after 90-days of employment.

This is a union exempt position.
