Coldest Night 2022

8th annual Hungry Hearts, presented by PwC

The vibrant business and philanthropic community set a new fundraising record when it came together for the eighth annual Hungry Hearts, a unique foody fundraiser for Our Place, raising over $170,000. That’s over half a million dollars YOU helped raise towards work as therapy programs that instill confident, pride and hope for so many.

Top local chefs from 13 local restaurants used their culinary expertise and imagination in a competition to see who could create the most popular and delicious land (mushroom) and sea (halibut) creations.

Guests were invited to “vote with their heart” in crowning their favourite dish. With over 2,100 votes cast through the Times Colonist website, the winner is Fireside Grill.

Our Place took a multi-pronged approach to Hungry Hearts, its annual fundraiser, with the culinary competition, as well as an online auction and a virtual gala.

We are so grateful to everyone who made this event such a tremendous success – from everyone who donated hundreds of incredible auction items to all of the local restaurants and their patrons who voted to CHEK News for spreading the word through the Hungry Hearts broadcast – we could not have done this without you, our Hungry Hearts community. Thank you!

You can still make a donation by calling us at 250-940-5060, or visiting our donation page!
